Two trumpets festooned with the banner of KU point skyward and herald the academic accelerator program with a mighty blast

Academic Accelerator Program (AAP)

The AAP is a first-year (freshman-year) program for international students pursuing a degree from the University of Kansas. The program provides expert assistance to students in their transition to KU, including in-country pre-arrival sessions, enhanced academic advising suport, fun cultural opportunities, and personalized career development opportunities. Students complete coursework toward their chosen bachelor's degree program in a supportive curriculum tailored to their unique English language abilities. For students who require full-time language study, coursework begins in KU's Applied English Center, one of the nation's strongest and most respected Intensive English centers. Students who are more linguistically advanced enroll in advanced academic English coursework alongside academic degree classes. Students who are already fully English proficient begin their chosen course of study alongside a first-semester class called "Orientation to the University" (UNIV 101).
